These four groups are also used to distinguish between compounds.When you are trying to make a chemical reaction take place, you have to know how much of each type of substance is going to be needed. In order to do this, you will need to do some simple math. The mass of the substance you are trying to replace will give you the mass of the chemical reaction. The concentration of that chemical reaction will tell you how much of the original substance you have to replace it with.For example, if you wanted to replace the amount of water with that of a given substance, you would multiply the number of water molecules you want by the number of chemical reactions you want to do. You will end up with the mass of water. This formula tells you how much you have to change the water into, depending on what you are trying to do.To see how much of a chemical reaction would be required for any given amount of substance, just multiply the number of substances you want to replace by the number of chemical reactions you have planned. You can then find out what quantity of substances you will need to change them into. And that's it!
